3D modeling for production is not just about designing parts; it’s also about anticipating their assembly and the sequence in which they will be put together. Each part is carefully designed to fit perfectly, with one goal in mind: to optimize the shipyard teams’ work and assembly time.
The 22m workboat project continues: Focus on System Diagrams.

As 22m workboat modeling continues, we are simultaneously developing the diagrams for the main systems: fuel, cooling, bilge, fire-fighting, etc.
These diagrams help visualize the overall operation of the vessel and ensure that each system meets the client’s operational requirements. They also assist us in refining the selection of equipment, its placement, as well as the routing of piping, in compliance with current regulations.
A new step for the 22m workboat project: the 3D model for production.

Update on our 22m workboat project: after validation of the general architecture, we are moving on to the next step with the development of the 3D model for production. Designed on SolidWorks, this model will allow us to generate:
- The cutting kit for the structural components and equipment supports
- The detailed assembly drawings for these cut pieces

A crucial step : the preliminary sizing of the structure !

This week, we are unveiling a crucial step in the workboat project: the preliminary sizing of the structure (scantlings).
In accordance with the classification society, the ship's structure is divided into panels, each being individually assessed in response to specific loads (water pressure, dynamic pressures, deck loads, etc.). The dimensions of the plates and stiffeners are then adjusted to meet these structural criteria while taking into account the materials available at the shipyard.

More than 13 years experience in naval conception
Graduated from Southampton University, Florent Maillet worked for more than 13 years with several shipyards and design offices. Adaptation and force of proposal were the key to perform a large extent of missions with different working methods and cultures.
